It was terribly sad news to hear of Glenn Graham’s passing at the end of 2023. Glenn and his wife, Shelly, neighbors to the Owen Sowerwine property, were strong supporters of the Owen Sowerwine conservation easement. As a wonderful supportive neighbor to the Owen Sowerwine property, Glenn really loved the natural area, its birds, trees, and wildlife. Shelly and his family wanted to honor Glenn by directing donations in his name to Flathead Audubon Society for the future benefit of the Owen Sowerwine property.
We received 19 gifts from 39 individuals for a total of $2,455 in memory of Glenn, to help us continue our on-the-ground management of this special area. We are forever grateful for the outpouring of support from Glenn’s family, friends, and relatives. Our plans are to use some of these contributions to update and improve the Owen Sowerwine entrances, including new signage, brochures with information about the history of the newly completed conservation easement, and the general rules and guidelines. Contributors’ names can be found in both the April newsletter and this edition of the Pileated Post. Thanks to all of you who contributed in Glenn’s name!
