Spring Cleaning

By Pam Willison

Nesting houses at the West Valley Viewing Area and West Valley Ponds are ready for new residents. Pat Jaquith, Ronda Howell, and Pam Willison cleared 16 nest boxes, suitable for bluebirds or swallows. It had been a few years since they were last maintained, so several had layers of nests, and some were full to the top. Two broken houses were replaced by new boxes Pam built, and others were repaired to secure backs, tops, and sides. Several tree swallows were in the area, ready to select a home for the summer. Happy Nesting!
