Twenty-one participants, including 7 young birders, joined Kathy Ross for a bird-filled, GBBC day, 2/19/17, in the Bigfork/Swan river area. Spectacular blue-sky views of the Swan River and snow-capped mountains served as a perfect background for waterfowl and Pine Siskins alike. A couple of rain showers, did not dampen anyone’s resolve to ID and count as many birds as possible. It was a wonderful mix of experienced birders and those just beginning, all enthusiastic about enjoying the mild, sometimes damp weather and 28 species of winter avian residents.
